Kite Packaging’s Sittingbourne branch adds to fleet.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kite Packaging’s Sittingbourne branch adds to fleet.
The packaging business puts safety at the forefront of its latest vehicle investment.
Kite packaging has announced the purchase of a new truck for its branch in Sittingbourne. The newest vehicle in the Kite fleet was acquired with road safety in mind and will help improve Kites service offering to its increasing customer base in South London. It also meets the latest environmental legislation and safety recommendations.
In 2015 the media drew attention to an increase in the number of cyclists on the nation’s roads being involved in fatal collisions with trucks and buses. As a safety focused company Kites newest wagon utilises the latest technology in on-board, all-round CCTV and undertaking warning system technology. As well as all-round CCTV recording, the system also triggers an internal cab alarm alerting the driver to the presence of other vehicles or cyclists performing undertaking manoeuvres. The technology is becoming increasingly popular in the UK and aims to reduce the number of road traffic accidents involving commercial goods vehicles.
This 12 tonne rigid curtain side truck also has a special load retaining system which helps to protect and stabilise any goods in transit, ensuring a safer and more efficient loading and unloading. The new truck is in keeping with Kites corporate responsibility agenda, in improving its environmental efficiency, by meeting all the latest environmental legislation criteria.
