CORRUGATED SOLUTIONS
There are a huge number of ways in which corrugated board, especially the Enviroboard, can be used to develop a fit-for-purpose pack.When doing this we examine 4 key area's;
1. Product
The pack cost should be proportional to the value of the goods being packed. Other important factors include the product's fragility and any atmospheric conditions to be encountered.
2. Packing method
This is important in determining the best pack for the application. An apparently economic solution may incur hidden labour costs. Automated packing systems are also available for higher volume packing.
3. Storage and transportation
Consideration should always be given to how a packed product will be stored, handled and transported. Independent impact and climatic testing is available by PIRA to ISTA and defence standards.
4. The Environment
If a single material is used then this increases the ease of recycling. The content of recycled material in the pack is also important, along with the pack weight which can often be reduced by careful design.
Once Kite has evaluated steps 1 to 4 potential solutions will be developed for consideration and trialling. It is important in all cases that the pack solution is fit-for-purpose. Kite's proposed solution may be an existing FEFCO design, a variation thereof or something unique.
BESPOKE CARTONS
Kite specialises in designing bespoke solutions Speacialist laminated board can be used for either containing or repelling liquids.
This corrugated fitting demonstrates how cardboard can package unusual shapes effectively. This is one part of a whole bike pack. |
