FEFCO STYLES
The FEFCO code is a standard range of corrugated box styles. The following six are the most common and are shown as open and closed packs.| 0201 OUTER FLAPS MEET This is the most common style used and requires no production tooling. The base and lid require closure usually with tape or staples. ![]() |
| 0211 DIE CUT, REVERSE TUCK The tuck in base and top removes the need for closure using tape. ![]() |
| 0215 DIE CUT, ENVELOPE BASE The tuck in envelope base and top removes the need for closure using tape. (Shown with a postal locking tab). ![]() |
| 0427 DIE CUT, SELF LOCKING This carton is made up by folding and tucking in the flaps to form a sealed container without the need for closure using tape. The design provides a robust structure with three layers of board on two sides of the carton. ![]() |
| 0401 MALTESE CROSS WRAP This variation of the 0401 is used to pack uniform rectangular products with speed. The lid requires closure usually with tape. ![]() |
| 0422 DIE CUT TRAY This simple but effective design forms a tray which can be used individually or stacked within an outer carton. ![]() |
BOARD OPTIONSOften overlooked. The type of corrugated board used can have a huge impact on the characteristics, look and feel of the finished box or pack. |

| Traditionally B flute single wall and BC flute double wall have been the most common corrugated boards used for packaging. However, recently these have been supplemented with new grades able to produce both lighter and stronger boxes. These can also provide significantly better surfaces for printing point of sale and shelf-ready packaging. | ![]() |
| A wide range of specialist boards suitable for converting into corrugated packaging are available. The top board shown is black, pre-printed on to a clay coat with a varnish finish. Board is avalible to meet virtually any application by varying the coatings and finishes. |
