‘There is no planet B’ – An essential white paper to plastic packaging and a sustainable future

By Jake Kirk • Saturday 15th September 2018

Is your business doing its part in the crusade against plastic waste?

So typically, when you think about a packaging company and the environment, that whole idea of two peas in a pod doesn’t exactly spring to mind. But what if we were to say to you we’re not the devil’s advocate, we’re a packaging group who actually want everyone to use less packaging. We want to get the ball rolling by doing everything we can to reduce the plastic mountain and help others do the same.

As we sift our way through the many tasks and challenges society throws our way, the particularly hot topic of protective packaging derived from plastic and polyethylene is being discussed throughout a wide range of industries. Plastic is being distributed left, right and centre, with non-recycled waste piling up in every eco system.

“According to the Ocean Conservancy, in less than 10 years, scientists predict there will be 250 million metric tons in the ocean and by 2050, there will be more plastic in the oceans than there are fish.”

We've produced an industry white paper on reducing plastic waste and challenged our business and customers to reduce our plastic usage by 120 tonnes by the end of 2019. We’re excited to see how much of a difference we can make, so why not join us and make David Attenborough proud? Now the ball’s in your court...
