Our Swindon Team Have Moved!

You may remember back in October last year, the acquisition announcement concerning our Swindon branch. Covering the Thames Valley and South Wales region they have been ‘bursting at the seams’ for some time now and therefore we made the decision to obtain a brand new building for the team and their growing stock.

It is now, with great pleasure that we can announce they have moved in to their new building – with 18,000 sq. ft of extra space.


If you are an existing Swindon branch customer you will know that their previous residence has been at the IO Centre, just off the A361. The team have now moved close by to South Marsden Industrial Estate, which has great motorway links.

Helping with the move was a number of volunteers from our Warehouse and Logistics teams – we are a family after all – and of course the Swindon employees. The move was fully completed this week and the teams are now settled in to a more spacious, brand new building.

The new site has undergone an impressive refurbishment, much needed for the growing branch. The team moved from Didcot to The IO Centre in 2007 and since then has grown to a £5.5 million operation! Employee numbers have doubled and customer demand has soared – more space was most definitely required.

Thankfully the new branch in South Marston is spread across two large units, totalling 36,000 sq. ft of space for the branch, doubling the size of the old branch. We have invested heavily into the refurbishment, to create a fully racked warehouse for custom packaging and stock-holding – the main-stay of our major account customer’s needs. The new racking will allow for 5,000 pallets of packaging – now that’s a lot of boxes!


The Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting will be held in August with all of our Kite Managing Partners, and our Chairman – as always we will keep you updated via the blog. For more information about our Swindon branch, head here.
