About Kite Packaging's North East regional distribution centre

Kite Packaging’s North East Regional Distribution Centre has recently moved to its new base in Washington where they occupy a 17,000 sq. ft facility. Strategically located to service the North East of England, Cumbria, Scotland and as far south as Leeming Bar, they are perfectly positioned to provide a just in time delivery service, crucial to the surrounding industry.

The site is overseen by Chris Round Regional Manager and consists of highly experienced packaging specialists. The expertise they offer includes corrugated re-design, a specialist Automotive & Aerospace design team, in-the-box solutions, load stability/stretch film solutions and compliance with the Packaging Regulations.

To further enable the team to deliver high quality added value solutions, the North East Team utilise Kite's Mobile packaging laboratory, allowing them to visit customers onsite to go through all their packaging requirements and carry out full product testing and demonstration.

In addition to the MTF truck, the North East RDC is equipped with state of the art machinery in their unique packaging showroom. From the latest void fill machines, stretch wrappers and innovative environmental products to specific customer case studies, the showroom is the perfect way for customers to see the latest packaging trends.

Location & directions

Located in Gateshead between Washington and Newcastle, Kite Packaging’s Northeast Regional Distribution Centre is within close access to the A1 and A19 and is only a short journey away from the entire Northeast region. Please refer to the map to the right for a visual guide.

From Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield & York:
Head towards the A1 (M) North. Keep right onto the A194 where splits from A1, Take 2nd exit towards A195. On roundabout take 3rd exit onto Follingsby Lane. Follow road straight ahead until 1st roundabout, Take 1st left onto Follingsby Way. Kite Packaging Northeast is located on the left-hand side 100 yards up the road.

From Edinburgh, Berwick & Northumberland:
Follow A1 to A19 in Tyne and Wear. Take the A19 exit from A1, Continue on A19 to A194(M) to exit A195, Take 1st exit to Follingsby Lane. Follow road straight ahead until 1st roundabout, Take 1st left onto Follingsby Way. Kite Packaging Northeast is located on the left-hand side 100 yards up the road.

From Carlisle & Hexham:
Head onto A69 towards A1 Newcastle, At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A1 slip road to A695/Gateshead/City (Centre)/A1(M), Exit onto A1231 towards Washington/Sunderland follow B1288, Take 1st slip road at roundabout onto A194(M), Take 2nd exit towards A195. On roundabout take 3rd exit onto Follingsby Lane. Follow road straight ahead until 1st roundabout, Take 1st left onto Follingsby Way. Kite Packaging Northeast is located on the left-hand side 100 yards up the road.

From Teesside, Middlesbrough & Hartlepool:
Head towards A19 North bound, Use the left lane to merge onto Sunderland Hwy/A1231 via the slip road to Gateshead from A19, Exit A1231 at A195 roundabout. Take 4th exit onto A195, Head towards A194(M). At round about take 4th exit onto Follingsby Lane. Follow road straight ahead until 1st roundabout, Take 1st left onto Follingsby Way. Kite Packaging Northeast is located on the left-hand side 100 yards up the road.
