Our Rotherham division formed a relay team to run the Yorkshire Marathon

By Jake Kirk • Monday 9th October 2017

Well done to our Northern family who ran the Yorkshire Marathon on Sunday the 8th October 2017.

After months of training for the 26.2-mile run, they finally put their training to the test and raced through the historic city centre of York, passing through the medieval walls of the city. The 6 strong team consisted of a range of athletic abilities from non-runners to casual runners and one team member that regularly runs. They worked as a team throughout, supporting each other every step of the way and have taken pride in pulling together to raise over £1,700 well over their original target of £500. The team proudly crossed the finish line after 4 hours 37 minutes.

The run was all in aid of a great cause as the Rotherham branch were raising money for their chosen charity “Forget me not Children’s hospice” the charity is very close to the hearts of the Rotherham division and they applaud the commitment and dedication of the staff that offer support, care, respite and advice to the children with life-shortening conditions and their families.

Well done from everyone at Kite!
