Regional Distribution Centre Contact Details
Kite Packaging Swindon is ideally situated close to the M4 and covers the South West, South Wales and M4 corridor as far North as Banbury and Milton Keynes.
The Swindon Regional Distribution Centre re-located to its current address 3 years ago and has recently increased its overall capacity to 40,000 sq. ft. with the construction of a new mezzanine floor.
The team is led by Regional Manager David Marr and delivers high levels of service and solutions, offering first-class expertise to help its customer base reduce their total packaging costs.
The Swindon team further enhance their service offering by utilising Kite’s teams of specialist engineers in the following areas: ‘in-the-box solutions’, ‘load retention’ (including stretch wrap audits) and now ‘aerospace and automotive’ (a team of specialist designers using Solidworks). To further enable the delivery of high-quality added-value solutions, the Swindon team have a Mobile Test Facility which can be taken directly to customers' premises, where full product testing and demonstrations can be carried out.
Currently our Swindon Regional Distribution Centre is not actively looking for new partners. However, if you are interested in working for Kite in either an internal or external sales role please email your CV and covering letter to email@example.com
Kite Packaging Thames Valley was approached by a large bathroom importer who received their products on full pallets in full containers. The products were then packed into single items and shipped through a parcel network, therefore requiring protection in transit.
The business’ original packaging method was resulting in 10% damages, which was detrimental to profits and the supply chain. This involved protecting products using corrugated and polystyrene pieces, and using further corrugated as void-fill - taking up 15 pallet spaces to store the material and making the packing operation inefficient.
After discussions Kite proposed a new solution using Air Shock. This comprised of two inflated packs completely surrounding the product (a sink) and could be used to pack their entire range. Drop tests and transit tests were carried out with 1,000 units and zero damages resulted. Air Shock has also helped reduce the board grade on the outer cartons used as the products are now well protected. As well as this the reduction of labour costs has been significant with far more products packed in the same time as before. In addition, because the Air Shock is stored uninflated it now only takes up 1 pallet space in the warehouse facility and also comes with a cost reduction of 18% per pack.
