Pallet Layer Pads

Pallet layer pads are protective sheets that sit between stacked layers of products on a pallet, offering protection from strapping and impacts, dispersing weight and keeping pallets tidy. Typically made from cardboard or plastic, they improve load integrity, cut down on damage, and can even add moisture or anti-static protection for delicate items. Use them to separate fragile goods, increase pallet density, and make handling safer and more predictable across the supply chain.

What we stock

Anti-slip sheets

Placed on the pallet base and then between each product layer, our anti-slip sheets stop heavy and slippery items like bottles, cans and boxes from sliding during transit. They are 100% recyclable, have a 50˚slip angle, and are ideal where load movement is the main risk.

Large cardboard sheets

These strong, shock-absorbing corrugated layer pads stabilise loads and provide robust floor protection for heavy stacks. Available in single wall corrugation and double wall options, both are great for cushioning and shock absorption. To avoid tears when wrapping pallets, opt for the large cardboard sheets with rounded corners.

Kraft sheets

If you’re looking for something lightweight and eco-friendly, our pure kraft paper sheets are great for protecting goods from abrasion without adding excessive weight to packages. They are fully recyclable and made from ribbed paper with a slightly corrugated texture, offering light to medium duty separation.

What is a layer pad?

A layer pad is a sheet used in packaging to separate and stabilise stacked products within a case or a pallet. It prevents shifting by distributing weight evenly, adds support to increase load density, and protects goods from compression and abrasion. They’re usually made from corrugated cardboard or plastic and can double as base layers for safer handling.

Why use layer pads?

Layer pads reduce product compression, protect against abrasion and create clean barriers that keep stock free from dust and contaminants. They improve staking efficiency and help preserve product presentation when cases are opened. When deciding which to use, choose cardboard pallet pads for cost-effective cushioning.

What is the difference between a slip sheet and a layer pad?

Made from cardboard or plastic, a slip sheet is a thin, pallet-sized board used to move and store goods in place of a wooden pallet. It saves weight and space and is often used with push-pull forklift attachments. A layer pad, on the other hand, is used with a pallet to separate and stabilise layers of products.

Slip sheets replace pallets; layer pads enhance palletised loads.
