Hand Pallet Wrap

Stretch wrap (also known as stretch film and pallet wrap) is a strong plastic film that easily stretches around items, especially those on a pallet, for protection. It’s elastic recovery keeps items tightly bound, stabilising palletised goods to create unit loads.

Our stretch wrap is easily applied by hand or with one of our handheld dispensers. Once wrapped around a pallet, the wrap adheres to itself, shielding goods against dust and weather. It retains tension while in transit so items do not move or get damaged.

We offer stretch wrap in clear, white, black, red and blue, made from either virgin material or a blend containing 30% recycled content. Our films are available in the following strengths:

• Super strength
• Elite performance
• Medium duty
• Heavy duty

You also choose from extended and flush core or coreless varieties.

Apart from coreless films, all rolls have a core diameter of 38mm or 50mm and are fully compatible with our handheld stretch wrap dispensers. The cores themselves weigh 190g for 400mm wide and 300g for 500mm wide films.

Clear Pallet Wrap

We stock clear pallet wrap in thicknesses from 4 to 30 micron. This transparent stretch film is great for securing goods on a pallet thanks to its high clarity, which makes identifying products, scanning labels, and carrying out checks without removing the wrap easy. It’s most commonly used in warehouses and distribution centres for general wrapping applications.

Black Pallet Wrap

Our black pallet wrap is available in 17-micron on a flush and extended core, and in 23-micron on a flush core only. Its opaque finish fully hides pallet contents, making it a smart choice for protecting high-value or theft-prone goods. By concealing product details and branding, it helps reduce the risk of targeted theft of premium or restricted shipments.

White Pallet Wrap

Also used to conceal contents and prevent theft, our white pallet wrap comes in 23-micron on a flush core. Its reflective finish reduces heat and UV exposure, adding a layer of light protection that is perfect for temperature sensitive goods.

Blue Pallet Wrap

Available in 17-micron film on a flush and extended core, blue stretch wrap is a staple in the food industry for separating food pallets from non-food pallets. As it is not naturally associated with food, blue is a distinctive colour that is easy to spot and ideal for maintaining visibility and hygiene standards in food packing environments and warehouses.

Red Pallet Wrap

Red film is commonly used for pallet security and colour coding. Unlike many red pallet wraps available currently in the market place, ours offers complete concealment and is perfect for when security is key. Our 17-micron red film is available on an extended core.

Recycled Pallet Wrap – 30% Recycled Blend 

If you’re looking for a high-quality recycled pallet wrap, our Envirostretch film helps businesses minimises their environmental impact without sacrificing performance or cost. This film is made with 30% recycled content, which reduces your carbon footprint and Plastic Packaging Tax obligation.

4-Micron Film

Our ultra-thin, nano-technology performance film delivers the strength and puncture resistance of much thicker films, despite its 4-micron thickness. Using less material per pallet, it reduces plastic use, lowers costs and cuts environmental impact.

Featuring a unique 25mm core, this film offers a 22% cost saving and double the number of rolls per pallet in comparison to our general-purpose film.

Pre-stretched for easy, efficient application, the film is fully recyclable, contains recycled content and supports plastic tax-efficient packaging choices.

Core Types

We supply pallet wrap in three core types:

• Flush
• Extended
• Coreless

Flush Core

Our flush core films are available in many different thicknesses and colours, to suit various applications.

The medium-duty – our most popular film – is 17-micron to suit most general pallet wrapping applications and comes in 400mm or 500mm wide rolls.

Alternatively, we supply heavy-duty film in a 20-micron thickness, which works well with heavier goods and irregular shaped loads. Our extra heavy-duty rolls are 30-micron thick, to provide better protection for sharp pallets and ‘ugly’ freight and prove particularly popular in the construction and building industries.

Extended Core

Wrapping systems with an extended core make it easier and quicker to wrap goods by hand. The core extends by 65mm each end of the roll, acting as a handle that can be held whilst wrapping the film around your products.

We sell a range of extended core stretch wraps, from medium and heavy duty to general purpose. We recommend our heavy duty 20-micron for large or irregularly shaped loads.

These extended core stretch films are manufactured from high performance cast material. Production tolerances are strictly regulated so that we can guarantee consistent and accurate thickness and roll length.

Pre-stretch film is stretched during the manufacturing process and then and wound onto rolls. This results in a lightweight film that is ideal for wrapping cages and pallets. It will produce significantly less waste than traditional films, which can help to reduce packaging waste obligations. It is cost efficient when compared to traditional pallet wrap.

Our pre-stretch film has a rolled edge, meaning that the rolls are highly durable and able to work without splitting even if dropped or misused. Pre-stretch (Chrome grade) hand pallet wrap is made using a blend of Octene (C8) and Hexene (C6) polymer.

Coreless

Our coreless pallet wrap is a 20-micron heavy-duty clear film designed for securing protruding pallet loads. Made with 30% recycled content, it offers a more sustainable choice that doesn’t leave behind core waste. Use with our coreless dispenser.

Cast or Blown Film?

Stretch film is produced using either the ‘cast’ or ‘blown’ manufacturing process, which is where each type gets its name. Below are some key facts relating to each type.

Cast

Cast stretch wrap has:

• Very good transparency, enabling barcodes and labels to easily be read through the wrapping.
• Extremely good tear resistance, when comparing Kite Packaging’s range to other films on the market.
• An extremely quiet unwind reducing noise levels over many other films.

Blown

• Has a very high puncture resistance compared to other films on the market
• Puts a high force onto the pallet, creating strong load stability
• Is very tacky and will stick to pallets in very dusty or extremely cold (-32 Degrees C) wrapping environments.

Our entire clear hand stretch wrap range is made from high performance cast film; one of the most commonly used materials and the highest quality type. It is perfect for general use and will ensure that the products on your pallet are all kept safe and protected from dust.

Although we don’t stock blown varieties, we do offer high tack, puncture resistant cast films that are suitable for cold environments. Look out for films that are specified as ‘high tack’ in the product table.
